South Sydney Rabbitohs hooker Damien Cook is being linked with a move to Brisbane for 2020 to join up with Broncos-bound Rabbitohs coach Anthony Seibold.
Fox Sports in Australia are reporting that the NRL’s 2018 Coach of the Year is keen to bring his star hooker to the Queensland capital club when his Souths contract expires at the end of the 2019 season. Cook, 27, starred for New South Wales as they triumphed in State of Origin over Queensland and the hooker also went on to make his international debut in the post-season test against New Zealand.
While Seibold is keen to take Cook with him to Brisbane, there are believed to be two other clubs plus South Sydney interested in the Dally M Hooker of the Year for 2020. The player’s manager, Mario Tartak, told the media of interest in Cook. “We’re down to four clubs and that includes Souths. Two are in Sydney, one out of Sydney,” he explained, adding that “they are all strong offers.”
