Warrington Wolves have moved to sign Salford forward Lama Tasi for 2019.
The 28-year-old has penned a one-year-deal with the Halliwell Jones Stadium club and joins with in excess of a hundred Super League appearances for both the Red Devils – in two spells – and St Helens, the team Warrington face in this week’s Super League play-off semi finals. Tasi will be joining up with one of his former Salford teammates at the Wire and he expressed his excitement at doing so. “I’m good mates with Bennie Murdoch-Masila too and it will be good to play with him again,” he explained.
He will be joining a team who are in the final four competing for a Grand Final place as well as the losing finalists of this year’s Challenge Cup final and the forward is hoping to be part of the push to go that bit further during his time with Warrington. “I’m excited about this opportunity and to hopefully look at winning some silverware,” he told the local press before outlining his past relationship with head coach Steve Price. “I was fortunate to have Pricey coach me in 2013 with Samoa, that’s how we first met, and he’s done well with the Wire, he’s turned things around this year.”
