Catalans Dragons’ forward Ben Garcia has signed a new three year deal with the club.
With his deal set to expire at the end of the season, the 25-year-old back rower has now signed a new three year deal which will see him stay with the club until the end of 2021. The Perpignan-based club’s reigning player of the season, ten time French international Garcia has played 99 matches for the Dragons and is, in the opinion of Get ’em Onside, one of the competition’s premier players in his position.
Having put pen to paper, Garcia was understandably delighted to remain with the club who, barring a short spell in 2016, he has played for through his whole professional career. “I received several options to pursue my career in another club but my wish was to stay here,” he explained before expressing his eagerness to continue working with Steve McNamara. “He has built a great squad, who enjoy working together, and he and the club have great ambitions for the future and I’m really happy to be a part of it.”
