Salford Red Devils are believed to have expressed an interest in bringing Featherstone Rovers’ half back Tom Holmes back into Super League.
After seventeen appearances for Castleford between 2014 and 2017, the 22 year old made the decision to drop down a division to join Rovers in the off season and has, thus far, enjoyed a good maiden campaign with the Post Office Road club. Forming an impressive partnership in the halves with Martyn Ridyard, they have helped the Flatcappers to fourth position in the Betfred Championship table having previously spent weeks second only to Toronto Wolfpack.
His good form has seen the struggling Red Devils look into the possibility of bringing the youngster to the AJ Bell Stadium. Holmes turned down Super League offers in favour of moving to Featherstone last winter in order to get regular game time and his current club have offered him a new two year deal in the hope of tempting him to rebuff the Super League club’s advances.
