Challenge Cup draw: Catalans to head to York

imgID119785606.jpg.galleryThe draw for round 5 of the Ladbrokes Challenge Cup has been made this evening and Get ‘Em Onside is of the belief that the tie of the round is unquestionably Catalans Dragons’ visit to Bootham Crescent to face York City Knights.

Following on from their sterling performance to conquer Betfred Championship team Swinton Lions in a relocated tie on Sunday, the Knights have been handed the plum draw of Super League’s Catalans Dragons who, in current form, may be ripe for a cup upset. Featuring in the fifth round as a result of finishing in the bottom four of the top tier last season, the Perpignan based club are coming off a 0-26 defeat against Warrington at the weekend. Having started the season strongly, York may well fancy their chances against a Catalans team who look listless and clueless so far in this campaign.

Speaking of the chance to host the Super League team, Knights’ water boy, kitman and all round dogsbody George Leatt explained that “We’re all looking forward to it, fantastic draw for the club, it’s an opportunity to enhance our reputation. It will be a great day all around.” The match will be played at Bootham Crescent over the weekend of 21st/22nd April.
