After struggling for game time over the last few years and failing to feature in their Super League campaign thus far, Leeds Rhinos’ half back Jordan Lilley has signed a one month loan deal with Betfred Championship team Leigh Centurions. He will be in immediate selection contention as his new team head to Halifax on Sunday.
The 21 year old has 37 first team appearances for Leeds with four tries coupled with kicking fifty one goals. Last season he featured for the club in a handful of consecutive matches and impressed but, while many felt he would push on to claim a regular starting berth for his boyhood club. However, when the more senior options returned to fitness he lost his place again and, following Richie Myler’s arrival and Joel Moon being handed the number 6 jersey, his 2018 chances thus far have been non-existent.
Leigh will be hoping Lilley’s arrival can spark their season as they head to West Yorkshire this weekend reeling from four losses in their first five games of their Championship campaign.
